The projector is on its way! Fox Theatre Walsenburg set to reopen November 24

WALSENBURG — The board of Fox Theatre Walsenburg announced the brand-new Christie CP2208-LP laser phosphor cinema projector was on order, with an install date of November 13.

A new control room was under construction to create an environmentally controlled clean-room for optimal projector operation. The unit carries a lifetime of 30,000 hours to 50% brightness and a three-year manufacturer warranty.

If all goes well during construction and install, the foundation invited the community to visit the historic theatre after the Parade of Lights on Friday, November 24 for a free classic holiday movie screening, with hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and Musso Farms popcorn.

In late July 2017 a new Spanish Peaks Community Foundation board declared its sole purpose operating the Fox. Board chairman David Wise was joined by Mayor James Eccher, Susan Shoop, Kristy McClendon, Margo Boodakian, Sarah Jardis, and George Ksander.
