Fox Tech Lab · Service inquiries

Tell us about the digital thing you cannot quite handle alone.

We may be able to help with everyday technology, family-media preservation, and simple local websites. Start with a short description. We will confirm whether it fits before arranging work, timing, cost, or a drop-off.

How it works for now

  1. Tell us the goal. Send a short description, not passwords, private files, or proof documents.
  2. We confirm the fit. We will reply with questions and say whether the Fox can help or refer you.
  3. Arrange the next step. Do not bring devices or media until we confirm a time and place.

Services available by inquiry

Ask us first

Get Tech Help

Plain-language help with the everyday technology that keeps getting in the way.

Good fit

  • Basic device, email, and account navigation
  • Two-step sign-in and basic account security
  • Photo organization and backup planning
  • Wi-Fi, printer, and everyday device setup
  • One-on-one learning without technical jargon
  • Virus and malware cleanup
  • Advanced data recovery from readable media
  • Custom PC builds and upgrades to client-owned devices

What to know

  • You type your own passwords; we never ask for or store them.
  • We do not provide hardware repair for failed or physically damaged devices. Board-level repair, liquid damage, soldering, clean-room recovery, and recovery from physically damaged media require a specialist.
  • Cleanup, recovery, builds, and upgrades are best-effort. We confirm the scope, parts, cost, backup plan, data-loss risk, and drop-off before accepting a device.
  • We can explain general steps, but we cannot complete banking, medical, legal, tax, or immigration transactions for you.

Preserve Media

Ask about carefully digitizing family media and local-history material.

Good fit

  • Family photos and paper documents
  • VHS, VHS-C, and Mini-DV tapes
  • 8 mm, Super-8, and 16 mm film
  • Output and backup planning after the original is reviewed

What to know

  • Do not bring media until the Fox confirms it can review the item and arranges a drop-off.
  • Before accepting anything, we will confirm its format and condition, that you own it or have permission to copy it, the desired output, how originals are returned, and when working copies are deleted.
  • We cannot copy commercial or protected media without clear permission, and we cannot guarantee every item can be recovered or digitized.

Build a Site

Scope a simple, useful web presence for a local organization, business, or creator.

Good fit

  • Simple public one-page websites
  • Clear service, location, social, gallery, and contact information
  • Mobile-first layout and basic search visibility
  • Local nonprofit, civic, small-business, artist, and creator projects

What to know

  • Before accepting a project, we will agree on price, schedule, hosting, revisions, and who maintains the site.
  • Sites with contact forms, payments, user accounts, logins, or sensitive information need separate security and maintenance review.
  • After the first conversation, we will tell you whether the Fox can take the project.

Device access and reuse

These two programs are not operating yet. You can express interest while inventory, eligibility, secure storage, and data-removal procedures are finalized.

Interest only

Get a Laptop

Tell us you are interested in a future refurbished device for higher education.

  • This interest list does not promise a device, timing, eligibility, or a match.
  • Do not email grades, financial records, disability information, identity documents, or other sensitive proof. We will explain any approved eligibility process later.

Start small

Tell us what you are trying to do.

A short description of the goal and the kind of device, media, or site is enough. Do not email passwords, identity documents, grades, financial records, or private files, and do not bring physical items until the Fox confirms the next step.
