Fox Theatre to test Monday matinee and earlier evening screenings

WALSENBURG — The Fox Theatre will test hosting a Monday matinee at 12 PM starting Monday, June 1, along with a new 7 PM evening screening time (previously 7:30 PM).

Monday is typically “office day” for part-time staff and volunteers — updating the marquee, website, Facebook, posters, and cleaning the theatre. Because volunteers are already scheduled on Mondays, a matinee expands an existing time slot without requiring an extra crew.

The Fox also wants to host a Sunday matinee but needs additional volunteers. Hosting a movie requires five to seven volunteers; the lead volunteer opens and closes the theatre (6 PM–10 PM). To volunteer, email feedback@foxtheatrewalsenburg.org or visit on Monday (staff in the office by 10 AM).

Ticket prices remain $5 Adults, $4 Students, $3 Children. In June, doors open at 6:30 PM with trailers at 7 PM and the feature at roughly 7:10 PM. Feedback on screening times is welcome at feedback@foxtheatrewalsenburg.org.
