Neon restoration begins at the Fox

WALSENBURG — Gordon Sign of Denver removed all the neon on Tuesday, October 31 from the marquee as the first step in revitalizing the Fox Theatre Walsenburg marquee.

The next step was cutting brand-new glass tubes based on patterns created during removal. During the two-week build period, board members planned to paint the barrels and the marquee structure.

Numerous steps remained before the project could be called complete — but the east façade was on its way back, led by board chairman David Wise.
