Rawlings Foundation grants $25K for youth programming space
WALSENBURG — The Spanish Peaks Community Foundation received a $25,000 grant from the Robert Hoag Rawlings Foundation to support a dedicated youth programming space as part of the ongoing Fox Theatre revitalization.
A small building at 711 Main Street, just north of the theatre, is being incorporated into the Fox complex and transformed into space for youth-focused initiatives and community programming. The Fox is reopening as more than a traditional movie house — a dynamic, multifaceted community hub.
“This grant is a vital contribution that allows us to continue our important work in Huerfano County,” said Sandy Dolak, Development Director of SPCF. “Since our initial application, we’ve encountered unexpected expenses completing the Fox Theatre. These funds will go directly toward programs that benefit the youth of our community.”
Support from the Rawlings Foundation helps ensure local youth will soon have a vibrant space to learn, create, and connect.
