Super chili bowl at the Fox

WALSENBURG — The big game might not have lived up to expectations, but the “Super Chili Bowl” competition at Fox Theatre on Sunday evening, certainly did. About 80 patrons tasted chili from 15 competitors whose chili expertise was clearly evident. The Fox fundraiser was a success and many participants are eagerly anticipating next year’s competition. Watching the game on the big screen with other football fans was fun too!

Pictured above are the first prize winners of each category (l to r) Best Queso: Erin McRad; Best Red Chili, Aaron Vasholz; and Best Green Chili, Arleigh Bailey. Winners received a laser etched cutting board, a fine blue ribbon and the undying devotion of many Walsenburg chili fans. Hooray for the Super Chili Bowl 2019! Can the winners repeat in 2020?
