Walsenburg’s Wiener Wednesday is wonderful

WALSENBURG — What is summer without lunch in the park? There are a hundred reasons why you should head down to Walsenburg’s Heritage Park (on Main Street by the train tracks) on Wednesdays to pick up a wiener, but one is more than enough. If the allure of stretching your legs and getting out of the office to enjoy the sunshine, breeze, and shade of the trees isn’t enough to get you out there, or even just the knowledge that buying lunch can help your community protect one of it’s best assets, perhaps the temptation of a delicious hot dog could do the trick. The hot dog cart is open every Wednesday this summer, from 11 am until 2 pm, unless they sell out earlier.

You can get regular hot dogs, Chicago dogs, even foot long hot dogs! Add chips and a drink to round out your lunch. All proceeds go to restoring the town’s Fox Theatre, including the purchase of a new projector.
